Governor's Office of Crime Control and Prevention Office of the Attorney General Provides referrals and informs victims as to case status at the appellate level. If case is being heard in county where no victim services are provided, they will provide service at the trial level. Open 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Maryland Center for Missing Children Maryland Commission on Human Relations Handles discrimination cases based on age, religion, sex, marital status, and national origin. Also handles no cause termination cases, discrimination in public accommodations, and harassment at the workplace. Open 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Maryland State Board of Victim Services Victim Witness Coordinator - U.S. Attorney's Office Provides victim and witness assistance for federal crime victims, including: court information, employer intercession, court accompaniment, and referral to other agencies. Open 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Women's Services Program Domestic violence, displaced homemaker, rape crisis and sexual assault, shelter for homeless women, transitional housing, and victims of crime focus on the special needs of women in crisis and transition. The program, an agency within the Community Services Administration, Maryland Department of Human Resources, is aligned with the Department's objectives of caring, prevention and self- sufficiency. By forming partnerships with community based organizations and county governments throughout Maryland, the program is able to use crisis intervention and preventive measures to promote self-sufficiency. |
