DPSCS Walkoff from Central Home Detention Unit
UPDATE: This offender was taken into custody Sunday, March 31, 2013.
Last seen: On Thursday, March 28, 2013 the Central Home Detention Unit received notification that a transmitter for Dustin Rice was out of range. Officers who investigated found Rice had left his approved residence on Ives Lane in Dundalk, Maryland and were unable to locate him. He was declared a walkoff at 11pm.
Home Detention is a program for offenders nearing the end of their sentence who by background and institutional adjustment, are able to live in the community with minimum risk to public safety. Offenders participating in home detention wear electronic monitoring anklets and reside in pre-approved private residences. The inmates on the program are only permitted outside of their approved residence for employment, religious purposes and community sponsored programs aimed at reentry back into the community.
