Criminal Justice Educators Conference At Md. Public Safety Education and Training Center In Sykesville, Friday, 4/27

TOWSON, MD (April 26, 2012)---The Maryland Consortium of Criminal Justice College Educators (MCCJCE) will be holding its first Annual Conference at the Maryland Public Safety Education and Training Center (PSETC), 6852 4th St. in Sykesville on Friday, April 27, from 10 AM to 3 PM.

Participating colleges and universities include the Carroll Community College, Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC), Coppin State University, Howard Community College, Montgomery College, Prince George’s Community College and the University of Baltimore. Approximately 100 students and faculty from these institutions are expected to attend and many will present papers and posters highlighting various current issues in criminal justice. Additionally, a panel including various local criminal justice professionals will discuss challenges in the field (see list below).

To encourage students to explore the various employment opportunities in the criminal justice field, there will be representatives from thirteen (13) agencies promoting their employment opportunities from 12:15-2:15.

Colonel Marcus Brown, Superintendent of the Maryland State Police, will provide the keynote speech to the assembly on the theme of the conference, ‘Education, Technology and Challenges in Criminal Justice’.

The Maryland Consortium of Criminal Justice College Educators (MCCJCE) is dedicated to improving criminal justice service delivery and promoting criminal justice education.
