Division of Parole and Probation’s Drinking Driver Monitor Program To Graduate Twelve on Friday, August 20 at 2 p.m. in Sykesville
Towson, MD (August 19, 2010)---The Maryland Division of Parole and Probation’s Drinking Driver Monitor Program (DDMP) will graduate twelve new monitors on Friday, August 20 at 2 p.m. The ceremony will be held at the Public Safety Education and Training Center, 6852 4th St., on the grounds of the Springfield Hospital Center in Sykesville.
DDMP monitors supervise court-ordered offenders who have been sentenced for alcohol-related crimes. As of June 30, there were 15,574 men and women under DDMP supervision in all corners of Maryland. Like others on Parole and Probation supervision, DDMP supervisees must strictly adhere to court-ordered terms of supervision or risk incarceration or other penalties.
DDMP is an important agency whose monitors strive to keep drunken drivers from re-offending and injuring themselves and innocent people.
The graduation’s keynote speaker will be Richard Harding, a longtime training coordinator of the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions (also DPSCS agencies) whose son was killed by a drunken driver.
