More than 50 Law Enforcement Agencies, Businesses, and Individuals Honored at Governorís Annual Crime Prevention Awards
December 4, 2012 -- Fifty-five individuals, businesses, and law enforcement agencies were honored yesterday for their innovative crime prevention efforts at the 33rd Governorís Crime Prevention Awards luncheon.
Held annually in Glen Burnie, the event showcases the efforts of men and women from all corners of the state whose programs have made a big difference in the community. Itís an event made possible by the MD Community Crime Prevention Institute in Sykesville, a Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services agency whose fulltime work is teaching crime prevention to citizens and law enforcement officers. Even McGruff the Crime Dog made an appearance!
This yearís honorees included citizens patrol groups and college campus safety programs, as well as law enforcement agencies, and even several businesses which helped law enforcement by donating services or space for crime prevention education and other efforts.
